We celebrated Canadian Stage's 2024 Theatre Ball, raising funds to support the dramatic art that is at the core of their mission. We are excited to share that Alfredo Romano, founder of Castlepoint Numa, received the Creative City Builder Award! For over 30 years, Alfredo has helped transform Toronto's creative spaces and communities. From the iconic L Tower and Meridian Hall retrofit to the Museum of Contemporary Art's vibrant industrial space, three major expansions of Pinewood Toronto Studios, and the exciting pre-construction of a 400-seat performance hall in Weston Park—Alfredo's contributions are inspiring.

After outgrowing their existing spaces in just over two years, Pride Toronto has doubled down, expanding from roughly 4,000 sq ft to 8,000 sq ft, while Zeidler has expanded their space by 25 percent. Now 90 per cent occupied, the Auto BLDG draws a unique ecosystem of businesses in the arts, technology, and creative sectors.

Pride Toronto, a not-for-profit organization that celebrates the history, courage, and diversity of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, made the Auto BLDG its headquarters in 2020. With its staff count already doubling in size, and continuing to grow, additional space was needed to foster a collaborative environment coupled with smaller meeting rooms for private meetings. The turnkey, open-concept space supports the organization’s expanding programming, including community working sessions, parade logistics and a safe space for external 2SLGBTQI+ agencies.

“Over the last few years, Pride Toronto has seen immense growth and the Auto BLDG has been our home base. While we quickly outgrew our original space, we were not ready to say goodbye to this location and community,” says

. “During our time here, we’ve had an opportunity to create and grow relationships with the Auto BLDG community, including the likes of MOCA and Akin Collective. Congratulations to Daniel Libeskind, architect of Castlepoint Numa's L-Tower, for receiving the ‘Dresden Peace Prize’ at the Dresden Semper Opera House for his outstanding and influential memorial architecture.


His approach leaves no room for ignorance and relativisation. The form, the architecture itself sets the course for remembrance. Whether it is the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the 9/11 Memorial in New York, the Imperial War Museum in Manchester or the Holocaust Memorial in Amsterdam. His work also includes the Military History Museum in Dresden, whose architecture has become an anti-war museum and the most important place in Dresden for coming to terms with the consequences of militarism and wars.

Thornbury Acres is a collaborative homesteading culture designed to empower families to actively participate in the farm to fork cycle.

Homesteading families will have access to the tools, training, and infrastructure to be completely self-sufficient throughout the year. Luminary Award Recipient - Nada Ristich has been a significant voice in transforming the role of corporate giving in Canada for over 25 years. She has long been recognized for her advocacy of the arts and the creative, principled and leadership role she has played in corporate philanthropy. 

Artist Award Recipient - Rajni Perera was born in Sri Lanka in 1985 and lives and works in Toronto. She explores issues of hybridity, futurity, ancestorship, immigration identity/cultures, monsters and dream worlds. These themes come together to create mythical explorations within a multimedia practice that includes painting, sculpture and photography.

We are honoured to attend an impactful team night out as one of the donors of the Hold 'em For Life Charity Challenge, raising over $3.2M for Cancer Care Research at Sinai Health Foundation and The Hold 'em For Life Fellowship Program.

Hold 'em for Life Charity Challenge has funded several life-saving breast cancer and prostate cancer research initiatives at various hospitals, leading to over 50 published Hold 'em For Life scientific research papers and presentations.

Castlepoint at Weston Farmers Market

A couple weeks ago, Castlepoint Numa was thrilled to be celebrated by Frontlines and the community for our support of the Frontlines’ Culinary Skills Training program. During the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic we outfitted the Frontlines building at 1800 Weston Road with a restaurant-quality catering kitchen. This assisted Frontlines in achieving its programming aspirations, including employment readiness training for the restaurant industry for at-risk youth and young adults. In thanks, Frontlines renamed the kitchen the “Castlepoint Community Kitchen” and installed a plaque on the entrance door. Thank you to Councillor Nunziata and MPP Faisal Hassan for your kind words and attending this community celebration!

The event is scheduled this weekend on Saturday April 23, 2022 starting at 10 am at 272 Sterling Road! The rain date is scheduled for Sunday April 24, 2022. All necessary materials including gloves, brooms, garbage bags, etc. will be provided along with water and snacks. Our neighbours
